Gavin's 2 years old!!!

Yay! As of yesterday, I officially have a two year old in the house. He had his well child check-up today and he is 30 lbs and 4 oz. He is in the 86 percentile for his weight and the 63 percentile for his height. He's so big, but Peyton is not far behind him. I also think Mikayla may only be a pound heavier than Gavin is right now. Pretty interesting!!!

Meltdown Central!!

The past few days have been completely meltdown central at my house. I have been really struggling and think perhaps along with the situational issues our family has going on, I may be having some post-partum depression as well. I don't know how else to explain what's going on in my head. I just keep crying and breaking down all day long. Since like, Friday. I know the holidays can play into it as well, but I am going back to the Doctor tomorrow and seeing if he'll refer me to someone who specializes in mental conditions. Somethings gotta give, but I don't want it to be my family. I also know I am not alone out there. I know several people who struggle with depression, anxiety, and other various mental conditions. I seriously gotta figure out a better way to deal with my kids and my house. But in the meantime, it's great to vent. even if nobody ever reads it, or the whole world does. I think I'm going to write a book...don't know what about, but I may try it anyway...

Any one else gotta hangover...sort of!

So does anyone else out there have what feels like a Christmas hangover? I am still working on cleaning up the mess, the toys, the wrapping and boxes, and I have also gotta take down all these decorations. And of course I have had a lack of sleep over the last couple of days from helping out Santa and such. Am I the only one who loves Christmas but is struggling with the aftermath? I also have been having a hard time getting myself on the right medication and have been feeling very, very anxious and overwhelmed. I was also somewhat disappointed by what happened on Christmas eve. After I had prepared lots of stuff for my whole family to enjoy, it ended up being only my family and my Mother and Father. That's it!. In reality, it probably made things less hectic, but I was still sad about it. Plus I got annoyed with my children asking everyone who came over on Christmas if they brought presents. I hate that and I expained to them how rude it was so we'll see how it works for us in the future. Hope everyone's having a splendid Holiday Season!!

Santa's getting excited!

So today, Santa let me know that he was wrapping several of the gifts he had for our children, and he was really excited for the items they were getting. They are receiving various items, but many of them are educational, which I love!
Also, I got a reminder in church today to talk with the kids about what gifts we can give to Jesus Christ, seeing as we are celebrating his birthday. One of the great things that was stated, was that we must remember that Christ told us that If you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Our family home evening lesson is going to be surrounding that very thing. We are going to talk about what gift, or gifts, each person wants to give to Christ on Christmas this year, and everyday in the year to come. I pray that we can all take the time ourselves to answer this question and remember the Christ in Christmas. He lived and died for us and our Heavenly Father sent his only begotten son to do those things for US, for all of us. Be good to each other!

Christmas is Coming...

Well, we've got just more than a week until Christmas. I have been sewing in hopes of getting all of my children outfitted with a new dress clothes for Christmas. It'll be fun to see how everyone looks together in matching outfits. We'll have to post a pic when we get them done and on.

Last night, for Family night, we discussed the True Meaning of Christmas and what we could do to remember that Christ's Birth is the most important part of the day. We had lots of suggestions and talked about making or getting gifts for each other that would follow in line with that idea. We drew names and everyone is going to get $3 to buy, or make, or both; something to give their drawn out name. The kids decided they wanted it to be secret. So, they don't know who is who's Secret Santa's, but the adults know. It's fun teaching the kids about giving and helping them remember the importance of our Savior during this blessed time of year. I think I may start leaving little notes and fun stuff out for the kids to find and help them count down to Christmas....We'll see how this turns out.

Already December...

I can't believe it's already the 5th of December. I love the holidays and Christmas time is my favorite, I just can't believe it's already here! I am not prepared for it. We just got into our Christmas decorations and put up our artificial tree, but discovered we had not ONE strand of lights. I went and bought a couple of strands of clear lights. I think they work the best because they match with everything. So far we have a tree up and I just put lights on it. That's the most decorating we have done as of today. Hope everyone's getting excited. I know I am! We are in our own house for our first Christmas. We are hosting Christmas Eve dinner at our home. We are also going to tell the Christmas story and sing carols and let everyone open One present (which undoubtedly happens to be PJ's every year...) It's going to be great!

9 Months old and counting!!

Peyton had his 9 month check up yesterday, (yes, it's a couple weeks late...) and you would not believe how big he already is. He weighs 21 pounds and 11 ounces!!! He's 28 1/2 inches tall. I forgot what his percentages were, but I'm betting he's up there! He has the same chubby legs that Gavy had, but he's not really "fat" He's just solid! I love his pudgy little legs!
